Welcome Carolyn Avery

Well, I’d like to think I have a good excuse for neglecting the blog.  For the past 6-7 weeks, I have been in the North Carolina.  While the United States is a pretty awesome place, it’s not nearly as interesting as Tanzania, and thus, there is not much to write about.  However, this week, we think we’ve have something worth sharing.  On Tuesday, June 7th, 2011, our daughter Carolyn Avery Stephenson was born.  Matt arrived in the US just 2 days before I went into labor.  Although he did not have time to get over his jet lag, Carolyn has been good to us in allowing us to get a little bit of sleep (and especially good to us in waiting for Matt).

I'm looking a little rough, but Matt looks pretty good.

The stats: 6 lbs. 11 oz, 19" long, Tarheel fan.

Carolyn came out looking just like Don (middle).

Well enough photos for now, but if you’re interested in a few more, visit the album here (my favorite of which is Uncle Andy studying for the bar with Carolyn sleeping in his lap):
